Mama-Style potato soup (妈妈的土豆汤)
Although culinary choice in China (at least in Shanghai) isn’t bad, you will still choose your Mom’s food as the best food! Should you however be lacking the necessary small change for flying home every weekend (or your expat working contract just doesn’t include it…) you can at least try to cook like your Mom!
Ingredients
- 3 Potatos (土豆)
- 1 Carrott (红萝卜)
- One green leek (韭葱)
- 1 vegetable stock soup cube (蔬菜汤块)
- Small sausages (香肠)
Preparation
Wash and clean vegetable, cut into larger pieces. Put into pot and cover with water. Cook for 20 minutes on a small flame.
Puree vegetable and fill up soup with one cup of vegetable soup. If the soup is too thick, add more water. Use salt and pepper to adjust flavor to your likings. Add some small sausages prior to serving. Bon appetite!
